My Review -

Om Swami shares six business principles in his latest book, The Heart of Success. He built a multi-million-dollar business at a very young age but becomes a monk. A monk who sold his Porsche is none other than Om Swami. This book starts with the anecdote when Akash (from a publishing company) tries to convince the monk to write a book about business success. He thinks he is not qualified enough, but he agreed somehow due to his stellar business career.

Om Swami shares six principles in the form of SACRED.

Self
Approach
Competence
Resources
Efforts
Destiny

The author shared his first sales encounter when he was seven years old and changed his outlook. He talks about dreams and the difference between tangible objects and goals. Further, he shares different aspects of the approach and the anecdote of his work with the Australian government, which is very inspiring.

He teaches that no matter what your intentions are, you won't do it if you don't have a skill. Which leads to the question, how will you acquire a skill? The answer is simple, be persistent. You have to work continuously because success requires discipline, mindfulness, and patience.

This book has different short stories to make the reader understand the basic principles of trade and life. I knew a few stories already, so it was repetitive for me, but I am glad I came across this beautiful book. Thanks to my secret Santa. The book is fast-paced and written in an uncomplicated language. So everyone can feel the concept and adapts it. I enjoy reading this novel, and I know every reader will gain something from this book. So pick this one. I definitely recommend it.

My favorite lines from the book -
You are ready when you can't stop talking about it.
Be clear about what you want.
Sell a vision, not a product.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
Life may not seem fair but no one can take these three rights away from you. The right to dream, the right to choose, and the right to act.
Accept and cherish your insanity because sometimes, it is the only emotion that keeps us sane and gives us the courage to pull through.
