My Rant/Review -

I read two books by Sudeep Nagarkar, Sorry, You're Not My Type and All Rights Reserved for You, and I gave both two-star ratings. I read them in 2017 and since then haven't picked any of his books till now. I give this one also two stars and as you can understand that I didn't enjoy his work and apparently not going to read any books by him further.

By the title, one can easily comprehend the plot of this book. A guy falls in love with a girl while she friend-zoned him. Like every other teen Bollywood romance story, Apurv tried everything to make Amyra fall in love. But she didn't.

The story is about 16 years old teenagers, but they behave like mature people who understand what love is and crap. It was hard for me to understand what the author wanted to portray; in India, after the 10th majority called Higher Secondary School for 11th and 12th class students, Sudeep Nagarkar narrates it like college. Apurv, Amyra, Sia, and Ritvik bunk classes, no uniforms, spend most of their time in the canteen or drama classes, etc.

The characters are also dumb enough to showcase their love on Instagram live or play the blue whale game. They all go through teen issues that make the story going, but nothing is inspiring or intriguing enough to remember in the long run. After a few years, if someone will ask me the story of this book, I don't think I'll remember it, just like the previous ones I read by Sudeep Nagarkar

The author's writing is also similar to Durjoy Dutta, Chetan Bhagat, and Novoneel Chakraborty. Only suitable for someone who is a newbie or a teenager who wants to connect with the essence that goes by the characters. I wondered what the hell is going on or why this particular character behaves absurdly throughout the book. The author tried to mix the American high school drama in an Indian setting that didn't work. I have a lot more to say, but I think you get the gist. I won't recommend this book to anyone.

Still, if you want to read, then you can purchase it from - Amazon IN Amazon US
