We're Corporates

Book Review -

A debut book of Sudarsan Nagarajan is based on software experts who are done with their jobs and looking for new paths. As the name suggests, We're Corporates; the story is mainly focused on the insights of MNC's and how it affects the lives of their employees.

This book has three protagonists, Ajay, Suraj, and Meghna. All three were good at their jobs, but Ajay was unsatisfied with the work; Meghna lost her life's purpose due to the job's pressure. Meanwhile, Suraj becomes the victim of the recession. These three have no prior connection with each other but come together as a trio who help achieve each other's dreams.

Sudarsan Nagarajan is a software engineer, and it clearly helps him create this tale, but when it comes to character growth, I felt a vast area was left untouched. For example, Meghna is a great coder. She loves coding; circumstances made her quit the job, and her parents behave typically and fix her marriage, which seems related because that's the harsh reality of India. But when she tried to pick her up and start working with Suraj, she ended up at the HR department, which I didn't relish.

The characters show growth at the professional level, but not personally. But then the story is also fast-paced, primarily based on the conflicts faced by the employees at IT offices made me rethink the author's purpose of writing. Nevertheless, he manages to write a decent story, and the issues he raised are valid.

The narration is smooth without any grammatical errors. The main lesson from the book one can take is when one door closes, another door opens. So, all you have to do is keep your eyes open. The characters face distinct dilemmas, and how they overcome them is the central theme. All in all, it's a good story. I recommend it to newbies.
