21 Fantastic Failures and What their Stories Teach Us by Sonali Misra

Book Review -

Sonali Misra's debut work, 21 Fantastic Failures, is based upon twenty-one narratives about well-known individuals. But these are not the success stories but the failed ones. As human beings, we always want to win and succeed, and we love to hear the triumph stories, but we don't focus on the struggles and failures of that person.

Failures and success are part of a coin. So, it is time to see the less known aspect of these twenty-one celebrities - Amitabh Bachchan, Steve Jobs, Oprah Winfrey, Lionel Messi, Richard Branson, Vincent van Gogh, Thomas Edison, Julia Child, Dr. Seuss, Nelson Mandela, Colonel Sanders, Elon Musk, Serena Williams, Walt Disney, Albert Einstein, Vera Wang, The Beatles, Michael Jordan, Steven Spielberg, Ratan Tata, and Lady Gaga.

I'm sure you have heard or known about at least three to four people from the above list, and if more, it is lovely. Julia Child, Dr. Seuss, Colonel Sanders, and Vera Wang were new to me, and because of the author, I got to know about them. Of course, I already knew a lot about the rest, but how Sonali Misra portrayed the content is unique and compelling to read.

She first briefly introduced the individuals, their careers, achievements, and failures that led them to the crossroads and represented two choices. After that, which paths they chose and how they turned their lives are mentioned. The author also incorporates a short anecdote about these celebrities in the last.

Overall, I appreciate the author's research and admire her work. This fast-paced book is perfect for all kinds of readers, especially beginners. The lessons are inspiring and provide a diverse outlook on difficulties and defeats. I recommend it.
