The Sunrisers by Robyn Singer

Book Review -

The Sunrisers by Robyn Singer (penname) is the first book in the Ricochet trilogy. It is a fast-paced, action-packed science fiction novel that revolves around two childhood friends, Yael Pavnick and Molina Langstone, on opposite sides of a conflict that could determine the universe's fate.

The novel starts with Yael, a professional thief, being invited to join The Order of the Banshee, a group of female thieves considered the best in the universe. Despite being much younger than the other members, Yael is recognized for her incredible skills and expertise.

Meanwhile, Molina, Yael's childhood friend, has just been promoted to Captain in The Sunrisers, the most prestigious peacekeeping organization in the universe. Her first assignment is to bring down The Order of the Banshee.

As the story progresses, Yael and Molina's lives become intertwined in a dangerous game of cat and mouse. They are forced to use all their skills and wits to stay ahead of their new enemy, and both women will suffer the consequences of their actions. Their love for each other is tested as they struggle to reconcile their personal values with loyalty to their respective organizations.

Who will win this battle - love or duty?

One of the strengths of this book is character development. Yael and Molina are both complex and multifaceted characters, and Robyn Singer shows their growth and transformation throughout the novel. I appreciate that the author creates autistic and gay characters as leads. The supporting characters also add depth and richness to the story.

The plot is well-crafted, with plenty of action, twists, and turns to keep the reader engaged. The world-building is also impressive. Overall, it is a thrilling and engrossing novel that will appeal to science fiction, action, and adventure fans, and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
