Q.1 Tell us a little about yourself? Perhaps something not many people know?
A. Hi My name is Anshuman Kuthiala, I am a Public Servant.

Q.2 Are we going to read more from you soon? Any new project you’re working on?
A. Ya sure, I am working on my next book which would be in 3 languages and 3 genres.

Q.3 Does writing energize you or exhaust you?
A. Both. It is like an overflow of emotions. First, you are drained than when you can give words to your feelings. It brings a sense of fulfillment.

Q.4 What advice do you have for writers?
A. Love more, read more so that you can write more.

Q.5 What are your views on the state of Hindi literature in India today?
A. It is upcoming. New people are coming. There is a lot of competition. Very hard to make your mark in literary circles, and the audience in general. You need a good reference and perhaps good social media marketing skills.

Q.6 If you could tell your younger writing self anything, what would it be?
A. Just maintain your innocence bro.

Q.7 What are the most important magazines or websites for writers to subscribe to?
A. Naya Gyanodaya, Abhinav Imroz, Aha Zindagi, Your Quote, Rekhta etc.

Q.8 Is the Government and the authorities on their parts taking enough initiative to promote Hindi literature?
A. Yes, but they need to use social media to connect with the youth.

Q.9 Do you ever suffer from writer’s block? If so, what do you do about it?
A. Not really, but in those times one should focus on reading.

Q.10 Do you read your book reviews? How do you deal with bad or good ones?
A. Ya, I have read. I ascertain people’s point of view, but I have my own style to express my substance.

Q.11 What does your family think of your writing?
A. They are quite encouraging and support me.

Q.12 What is your writing process? Do you follow a regular routine?
A. I have a regular routine to read, but thoughts don’t follow a routine or pattern. I try to note down whenever something comes in my mind.

Q.13 How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?
A. I have written only Shahar Mein Shayar till now.

Q.14 Do you have any unique and quirky writing habits?
A. I write 2 lines first of many ghazals and poems simultaneously and complete them gradually over a while.

Q.15 What do you consider to be your best accomplishment?
A. To have read, understood, and emulate great writers.  
     
Q.16 What is the most unethical practice in the publishing industry?
A. Not giving royalty, not telling how much copies have been published, the whole process lacks transparency and accountability.

Q.17 Who edited your book and how did you select him/her?
A. I have edited it myself.

Q.18 Which famous person, living or dead would you like to meet and why?
A. I would like to meet Manohar Shyam Joshi, Dushyant Kumar, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji, Harivansh Rai Bachhan, Jaun Eliya (all dead), Gurdas Maan, Rahat Indori, Kumar Vishwas. All these people, their writing and their life have had a profound influence on me.

Q.19 What is your favorite book and why?
A. There are many books which have influenced my thoughts and way of life. I cannot name a few.
