Q.1 Please introduce yourself - Where are you from? How long have you been blogging? What’s the name of your blog? What made you decide to start a book blog?
A.
I’m Spanish but have been living in Surrey, UK, for the last 3 years. I have been blogging for a little over 2 years, but my new project called The Reading Corner is only 2 months old.

I decided to start TRC because I noticed a severe lack of promoting diverse literature, especially for BIPOC, LGBTQ, and minority groups. So I decided it was time to help diversify people’s shelves.

Q.2 What is your favorite genre and book?
A.
My favorite genre is Romance/Drama, and my favorite book at the moment is Open Water by Caleb Azumah Nelson, although my favorite book changes every few months.

Q.3 What one piece of advice do you wish you’d had when you started book blogging?
A.
It doesn't have to be perfect from the get-go; it just has to be. So although you’ll learn how to perfect things and turn your ideas into reality with time and practice, don’t hold on to creating something until you think you can do it perfectly.

Q.4 What piece of advice would you like to give to other bloggers?
A.
Surround yourself with people who believe in what you do and won’t put you down just because they don’t understand what you are doing.

Q.5 How many books are actually on your bookshelf/shelves right now?
A.
I have around 150 books on my bookshelves and another few hundred on my Kindle.

Q.6 If you could be a character from a book for just one day, who would you be and why?
A.
I would be Nina from Thirty Things I Love About Myself because even though she’s going through a very hard time personally and her circumstances are not the best, she decides to give a chance at rediscovering herself and being happy regardless of what her family and friends say.

Q.7 Is blogging your profession or just a hobby? Does your family support you? What’s their take on this?
A.
My first blog was my job for a while, but my current one is just a hobby for the time being. My family loves my blog and really believes in what I’m trying to do.

Q.8 What do you think is the best strategy for getting more visitors to a blog?
A.
I used to find Pinterest really helpful, but I think that social media is key to driving traffic nowadays, especially TikTok and Instagram. But first and foremost, creating good content and mastering SEO.

Q.9 What are the top 3 characteristics you look for in a good book?
A.
It has to be well-written. I can not stand a book that has spelling or grammar mistakes. It has to be fast-paced and hook me in from the beginning, and it can’t have “that would never happen in real life” moments unless it’s fantasy or horror.

Q.10 What are your favorite Instagram/Bookstagram/Booktuber accounts?
A.
Beth’s Book Club on Instagram is amazing, and I also love Anna-Marie at @annamareads_.

A few words for our readers and Books Charming -
Aim to read every book to ever exist. Reading opens the mind and teaches you infinite things about other people and yourself. I love having conversations with well-read people because they always teach me something I didn’t know.

Ask your friends and family what their favorite books are and try to read them. It will help you understand them and connect with them more profound. And no matter what, just keep swimming and believing in yourself.
