Wendy Nelson
Q.1 Please introduce
yourself - Where are you from? How long have you been blogging? What’s the name
of your blog? What made you decide to start a book blog?
A. My name is Wendy, I am
from Minneapolis, Minnesota. My blog name is Books Best Blog. I just started blogging in
August 2019, I think I started mainly so I would get approved for better ARC from
publishers.
Though I found that I really enjoyed it. I like finding or creating
the perfect images and or gifs that show each story I review as I see it in my
head. Whether it be what the main characters look like or the setting and
atmosphere of a part of the story.
Q.2 What is your favorite
genre and book?
A. Just about any kind of
romance. Though lately, I’m getting to love Fantasy and Fairytales almost as
much, especially since many contain a romance as well.
Q.3 What one piece of
advice do you wish you’d had when you first started book blogging?
A. Thoroughly look at the site you want, features, and the look, so you pick the best service (Wordpress, Wix,
Squarespace, Blogger, etc.)
Q.4 What piece of advice
you would like to give to other bloggers?
A. Figure out how many pages you want, and if the
template you choose supports the different types of pages you want. If you need
help, make sure you know where to go (does the site have developers you can
hire to help you or even to set up your site)
Q.5 How many books are
actually on your bookshelf/shelves right now?
A. Read: 1190, Want To Read: 730, Want to Read Books I Own: 2507, Did not finish: 7, Currently Reading: 1.
Q.6 If you could be a character from a book for just one day who would you be and why?
A. Hard question, but
probably Dre Clearwater because I love Samuel Clearwater (a.k.a. Preppy).
Q.7 Is blogging your
profession or just a hobby? Does your family support you? What’s their take on
this?
A. Hobby. My family doesn’t
care at all. I asked them to follow my blog, and they didn’t.
Q.8 What do you think is
the best strategy for getting more visitors to a blog?
A. Post often. I am not
really certain since I don’t get as much as many people. But I am getting more
all the time. I haven’t yet done any sort of Marketing, I do have a Google Ads
credit, but haven’t yet used it. I still am trying to figure out how to get
things working better on certain pages. The interface is user-friendly for some
things and not for others.
Q.9 What are the top 3
characteristics you look for in a good book?
A. 1. Interesting storylines.
2. Well-developed and likable characters (or hateable if
they are villains).
3. Great Romance.
Q.10 What are your
favorite Instagram/Bookstagram/Booktuber accounts?
A. I don’t really follow
those, but I follow other bloggers like Books and Coffee https://sylandbooks.wordpress.com, Readingtonic https://readingtonic.home.blog, and Dave’s Musings on Relationships https://dave94015.wordpress.com.
A few words for our readers
and Books Charming -
Thanks to Books Charming for
including me. Your site is awesome and has so much!
To the readers: enjoy
everything you read. There are so many books out there now that it isn’t worth
it to read something you are not enjoying. It is nice to read the reviews other
people wrote to find books you are really interested in, but then when you are
reading, it is ok to make up your own mind about whether you like what you are
reading. Thanks to all the readers who have enjoyed my site and my reviews,
