She graduated with her bachelor's degree in Creative Writing and English from Southern New Hampshire University in 2020. Her first book Tiger's Blood she self-published in 2016 when she was 17 years old. She loves her cats and her family. She is currently working on the Blood of the Beast series and finds inspiration through music, nature and traveling.
Q.1 Tell us something about yourself not many people know?
A. I was diagnosed with Schizophrenia when I was a teenager. My mental illness can be hard but I find writing as a great coping skill.
Q.2 Are we going to read more from you in the near future? Any new project you’re working on?
A. Yes! I am working on the third book of the Blood of the Beast series and I plan to work on two more books in the series after that.
Q.3 What inspired you to write the Blood of the Beast series?
A. A lot of things from people in my life to music to going on daily walks. I find that the best inspiration is those around me.
Q.4 What is the most difficult thing about writing characters from the opposite sex?
A. Getting in their heads and trying to understand the opposite sex can be tricky. The hardest character for me to write is Ethan because he’s more of an off-the-rails voice in my head. It’s hard to control him sometimes.
Q.5 How do you develop your plots and characters? Do you use any set formula?
A. I use an outline to develop my plot, for the characters they sort of growing with me as I write them.
Q.6 How many books have you written? Which one is your favorite?
A. I have written two so far, Tiger's Blood and Rise of the Rebels, and I’m working on the 3rd. Right now, my 3rd book is my favorite to write.
Q.7 What was the hardest part of writing this series?
A. The hardest part is to make the plot make sense. It can be tricky wrapping my head around everything but it all comes together in the end.
Q.8 Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?
A. I would love to grow my own garden with peppers and cucumbers and other fruits and veggies. I would like to take up other hobbies like scrapbooking, photography, and knitting.
Q.9 If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead role?
A. I haven’t put too much thought into this, maybe an up-and-coming actress who the movie could be their big break.
Q.10 Is it vital to get exposure and target the right readers for your writing, tell us about your marketing campaign?
A. I tend to talk about my books wherever I go, so whenever someone is interested, I’ll give them my card or a bookmark that I made for my books. Other than that my marketing campaign has been just to find interviews and post updates about my books on social media.
Q.11 If you could be a member of any fantasy race, which would you choose and why?
A. Hobbit from the Lord of the Rings. I’m short and homely like a hobbit and I love food. I would be Bilbo Baggins’ mistress if I could.
Q.12 Do you ever research real events, legends, or myths to get ideas?
A. I do some research on myths and legends to get ideas. I'll mostly look up mythical creatures to see what they look like to draw inspiration for character designs. My research will involve the personality traits of certain animals or mythical beings. I get a lot of inspiration from researching spiritual beings as well.
Q.13 If you could tell your younger writing self anything, what would it be?
A. Just keep writing, don’t listen to the people who try to bring you down. Write with your heart, not your head.
Q.14 Among all the supporting characters in your book, who is dear to you and why?
A. Leah is dear to me because she always brings a smile to the other characters. She’s comical and witty with an annoying cackle laugh that brings the other characters back down to earth sometimes.
Q.15 Who designed your book cover? How do you select him/her?
A. My first draft of my first book cover was designed by a friend, but I changed it in 2020. I found my new book cover designer on 99 Designs, and I liked his work so I hired him to do my cover.
Q.16 How do you select the name of your characters?
A. I will look up names in a baby book or name generator and whatever sounds right to me I’ll use.
Q.17 Do you read your book reviews? How do you deal with good or bad ones?
A. I have only two book reviews right now, they are both good and I am anticipating a bad review so I can learn from their judgment.
Q.18 Which famous person, living or dead would you like to meet and why?
A. Peter Dinklage and Ryan Reynolds because they are my celebrity crushes. I love every movie/tv series they are in and would love to have a conversation with one of them.
Q.19 What is your favorite book from other authors and why?
A. My favorite book series is A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin. I fell in love with his fantasy series and Tyrion is my favorite character in that. I really love the attention to detail and the number of hateful characters there are in the series. Of course, the dragons are awesome too.
Q.20 Share the experience of your journey so far?
A. I started writing short stories when I was 12 on Wattpad and Instagram then I had my idea for the Blood of the Beast series and started working on that when I was 13. I finished writing it when I was 16 and had it published at 17. From then on I wrote my second installment in the series and published that in January 2021. I am currently on chapter 11 of my 3rd book, and I still get a thrill out of writing today. Writing really makes me feel amazing.
