Q.1 Tell us a little about yourself? Perhaps
something not many people know?
A. I am an old soul, who feels older than I am,
funny, right?
Q.2
Are we going to read more from you in
the near future? Any new project you’re working on?
A. At present, I am not on any projects.
Sometimes, I may come up with a collection of drabbles.
Q.3
How do you select the names of your characters?
A. It is 100% accidental, the name that comes
to my mind in that particular moment, without any prior thought of it.
Q.4
What advice do you have for writers?
A. With my limited experience and knowledge, I would say, write from your core,
from the depths of your mind.
Q.5
Does writing energize or exhaust you?
A. Sometimes both. Sometimes I feel good and satisfied, and sometimes emotions overwhelm me.
Q.6
If you could tell your younger writing
self-anything, what would it be?
A. Never shy to write.
Q.7
What are the most important magazines or
websites for writers to subscribe to?
A. I am sorry, I have no idea. I would say,
read, read, and read as many books as possible to make your writing better.
Q.8
What was an early experience where you
learned that language had power?
A.
The first thing I wrote was a poem and the readers interpreted it in so many
ways that I never thought of. Then I knew words have the power to change thinking,
even I can explore the creative sides of readers.
Q.9
Do you believe in writer’s block?
A. Yes, always.
Q.10
Do you read your book reviews? How do
you deal with bad or good ones?
A. I read them. They help to know how I can do
better.
Q.11
Does your family support your career as
a writer?
A. I have a full time stable and secure job,
so this issue never turned up. But I won’t take writing as a career, as I think
I am not good enough to survive on that.
Q.12
How long does it take to complete one of
your books?
A. I have only one book at present, which I
completed in 3 months. The book has 14 short stories and a poem with entirely
different topics, characters, and contexts. So a different mood was needed for
writing each of it.
Q.13
How many books have you written? Which
is your favorite?
A. One and only one Still Loved Still Missed.
That’s my favorite.
Q.14
Do you have any unique and quirky
writing habits?
A. I write within minutes if I feel the urge.
Most times without prior thought of writing one, without planning the start,
middle or end. It is like my mind knows it all and there is no time spent to
think about anything. It is a continuous flow.
Q.15
What do you consider to be your best
accomplishment?
A. I was awarded the Most
Popular Writer Cash Award from an online website in 2012 and of course my
book.
Q.16
What is the most unethical practice in
the publishing industry?
A. Stealing and not respecting copyrights.
Q.17
Who edited your book and how did you
select him/her?
A. My publishers did that, I didn’t select
anyone in particular.
Q.18
Which famous person, living or dead
would you like to meet and why?
A. RK Narayan, I love his Malgudi Days, the
stories always haunt me. I just want to know more about his writing process.
Q.19
What is your favorite book and why?
A. Pride and Prejudice, it has deep
observations.
Q.20
Share the experience of your journey so
far?
A. So far it was a smooth journey. Being a
self-published author everything from marketing to promoting is to be done by
the author, which will give a rough journey, it seems.
