Q.1 Tell us a little about yourself?
Perhaps something not many people know?
A. I wrote 3 books across a period of
7 years every night after work, before I got my first book deal. You need to
work for a long time with all your sincerity before you start seeing any
results.
Q.2 How many unpublished
and half-finished book do you have?
A. My next book - Second Wind shall be
released by May this year. My third manuscript is complete and currently
unpublished.
Q.3 Where do you
get your ideas?
A. I go looking for them.
Q.4 What advice do
you have for writers?
A. If you want to be a professional
writer, just don’t quit.
Q.5 Do you try
more to be original or to deliver to readers what they want?
A. Try to do both, it has to be a
combination.
Q.6 If you could
tell your younger writing self-anything, what would it be?
A. If you get a chance, do it all
over again.
Q.7 What are the
most important magazines or websites for writers to subscribe to?
A. Awareness about the world around
you is key. Read everything, not just your genre, but varied- both fiction and
nonfiction. There is no one-stop solution.
Q.8 What is the
most difficult thing about writing characters from the opposite sex?
A. Empathy is key. It’s not
difficult, but requires your heart to be in it.
Q.9 How do you
select the names of your characters?
A. No particular process. It is good
if they have a meaning.
Q.10 Do
you read your book reviews? How do you deal with bad or good ones?
A. Yes. If I agree with the bad one,
try not to commit the same mistake again.
Q.11 Does
your family supports your career as a writer?
A. Yes. My parents and wife are my
biggest support.
Q.12 What
do your fans mean to you?
A. Everything. We exist for them.
Q.13 How
many books have you written? Which is your favorite?
A. Currently only one released, so
that one automatically becomes my favorite.
Q.14 Do
you have any unique and quirky writing habits?
A. I like my particular writing
table, I guess everyone likes it.

do you consider to be your best accomplishment?
A. The fact that my book The Tree
with a Thousand Apples has influenced minds, made them think and develop their
own perspective of the world, I think is a huge achievement for me.

is the most unethical practice in the publishing industry?
A. Not really sure of.

edited your book and how did you select him/her?
A. Ms. Priyamvada from Niyogi Books.
The publisher chose her. She is brilliant.
Q.18 Which
famous person, living or dead would you like to meet and why?
A. Ernest Hemingway. I really adore
him and his writing.
Q.19 What
is your favorite book and why?
A. Not favorite, but Train to Pakistan
is one of the first books I read that influenced my mind, developed my
perspective and made me want to write.
