She is the debut author of the book My pleasure, Starla. Born and raised in Brazil, currently living in a small town in Italy.
Q.1 Tell us something about yourself not many people know?
A. Before falling in love with writing, I was in love with writing lyrics to songs. They both with the same intention: Do something to perpetuate itself.
Q.2 Are we going to read more from you in the near future? Any new project you're working on?
A. Yes! I am working on the sequel to My Pleasure, Starla, which will be released at the end of 2022.
Q.3 What inspired you to write My Pleasure, Starla?
A. Prostitution is a big issue in South America and many parts of the world, but it's actually taboo to talk about it. We've all heard about sex workers, we see them everywhere, but we don't know exactly who they are.
In My Pleasure, Starla, we have got the opportunity to see and talk to people in this condition and get to know them better as human beings, know what brought them there, and know the human being who hides behind the glitter and tight clothes. Each of the people I spoke to contributed to the creation of Starla and their stories told in the book.
Q.4 What is the most challenging thing about writing characters from the opposite sex?
A. Don't make them cliché, to be honest.
Q.5 How do you develop your plots and characters? Do you use any set formula?
A. Before starting the story of the book, I already have the plots to be inserted. All names were changed to keep the identity of the people involved in the project, but all characters were based on real people. I don't use any formula at all, at least not intentionally.
Q.6 Is it vital to get exposure and target the right readers for your writing? Tell us about your marketing campaign?
A. Talking about such a taboo subject ends up closing the doors a little to marketing as if it were a book on any other matter; I end up directing more to adult audiences who might be interested in knowing more about the subject.
Q.7 Is there anyone you would like to acknowledge or thank for their support in your writing journey?
A. I must first thank my husband, I had the idea for this book and almost everything related to the book before I met him, but I had given up on the idea, and in one of our conversations, I let him know, and he encouraged me to go back to writing and talk about this taboo.
I must confess that talking about this subject generates all kinds of reactions in people, which made me insecure to continue it. However, my husband insisted that I should write, whether about this or any other topic; he is the person who encourages me the most in many ways.
Q.8 Who designed your book cover? How did you select him/her?
A. The photo was taken by Alexander Krivitskiy. He is a very talented photographer who lives in Ukraine. I discovered his portfolio in one of my searches, and the chosen photo expressed all the emotion I wanted to convey. Some finishing touches and the cover photo was born as we know. The other modifications were made by me.
Q.9 What was one of the most surprising things you learned while writing your book?
A. Many times, we have a romanticized view on this subject; being there in that environment made me completely change what I thought about it.
Q.10 If you could, which fictional character (from your own book or someone else's) would you like to invite for dinner and why?
A. I would sit at the table with Starla; it would be a fantastic experience. She represents faith because, after everything that happened to her, she still believed in love.
Q.11 What is your writing schedule while working?
A. I usually wake up, start the computer, make a coffee, and put on some music to get in the mood before writing.
Q.12 How do you select the name of your characters?
A. Intuition.
Q.13 How long does it take you to write a book?
A. As My Pleasure, Starla is the first book I will use as a reference: I started it in 2018, but I only wrote it consistently in 2020 and 2021.
Q.14 What are the three things a reader can expect from your book?
A. A touching story based on actual facts, a new look at this controversial subject, and an immersion in this environment so superficially talked about.
Q.15 Do you have any unique and quirky writing habits?
A. I usually write drinking coffee or pause to drink coffee. A lot of times. Pray for my kidneys.
Q.16 How do you select the name of your book?
A. The first name of this book was Christine's Diary, so one day, I was making bread, and the title My Pleasure, Starla crossed my mind.
Q.17 Where do you as an author draw line on erotic content?
A. I like the idea of writing about sex and sexuality, but I didn't feel the need to be too graphic on My Pleasure, Starla. But this is something the reader can expect in the sequel.
Q.18 Which famous person, living or dead, would you like to meet and why?
A. Paulo Coelho. He's the writer I used to read more in my childhood, and I would like to thank him for making me the best company through his writing in my childhood.
Q.19 What is your favorite book from other authors and why?
A. It's hard to choose just one. But I would say that the book that captivates me is the one that immerses you so deeply into the story that you can't stop reading it to find out what's next.

A. I would say it's an honor to be called a writer. Especially when your story is based on true events, people are trusting to open up to you, to show their true self, and that's how a character or an idea is born.
