Q.1 Tell us something about yourself not many people know?
A.
I am a very reserved person and a loner, although in society play the Joker. Through Jungian Arch type personality analysis, I’m a mix of a Hero, a Rebel, a Joker, and a Sage.

Q.2 When should we expect your next book? What will it be about?
A.
I am presently working on my new book, which is a spiritual reflection on the mind and the self, tentatively titled I AM AWARENESS. I have not put any deadlines on when it should be out. For me, I let life direct me and not me trying to direct it!

Q.3 Where’d you get the idea to do a collection of short stories named Wagging Tongues instead of a full-length novel?
A.
I entered a short story competition and won some recognition for one of my stories, and that got me moving on to writing a compilation of short stories.

Q.4 How do you select the names of your characters?
A.
Generally through Jungian arch-type personalities.

Q.5 What were your feelings when your novel was accepted/when you first saw the cover of the finished product?
A.
Indifferent and my mind recited the words of Jesus on the cross, Not my will but thy will be done, Lord.

Q.6 What do you want readers to take away from your book?
A.
To trust your intuition and follow your gut instincts, nothing about life is in black and white, and we can’t be sure if we are an outcome of nature or nurture, importantly bloom to your fullest in surrender to the omnipresent.

Q.7 What was one of the most surprising things you learned while writing this book?
A.
That when you surrender the notion that you are the doer, you let the larger cosmic intelligence work through you, then you are in the highest expression of intelligence, and that is where all great creative ideas come from.

Q.8 What was the hardest part of writing this book?
A.
To stick to the TAO and be in the flow and not let Chandra interfere!

Q.9 Do you feel that there are specific challenges in marketing and promoting short fiction compared to novels? How do you promote your short stories?
A.
I stick to the creative process and don’t worry about things I don’t know much about or have control over.

Q.10 What’s your advice to short story writers who may not have been published yet? What are the keys to success, in your opinion?
A.
Success is not a destination but a frame of mind, and to be a successful short story writer remember the fundamentals; to have a good intro, a strong conflict, a good resolution, and a great climax.

Q.11 Who would you most like to thank for their involvement in your writing career?
A.
Writers who have influenced and molded my personality, everybody from Tagore, Bruce Lee, Krishnamurti, Albert Einstein, Charlie Chaplin, and Stephen Hawking, to name a few.

Q.12 How many books have you written? Which one is your favorite?
A.
I have written 5 books, and each is special in its own way to me as it signifies a phase of my life.

Q.13 Who edited your book, and how did you select him/her?
A.
My books are edited by English Novelist and Musician Tim Bragg. He is a gifted author and a student of literature and writing, so it made him my obvious choice.

Q.14 Can you work anywhere, or is there a certain space and quietude required to write?
A.
SILENCE and in my room with some classical music playing in the background.

Q.15 How does your family/friends feel about your book or writing venture in general?
A.
Indifferent, most of my family and close, a small circle of friends, are great achievers and the first thing you learn in that company is to put yourself last!

Q.16 Do you read your book reviews? How do you deal with good and bad ones?
A.
Yes. I do read reviews of my work and enjoy constructive criticism, but in general, I don’t let it influence my well-being and just be a witness to the Lila of life and my/mind.

Q.17 Have any of your characters been chalked out based on someone you know?
A.
Yes, most of them. We cannot be sure if life influences fiction or fiction influences life.

Q.18 Which famous person, living or dead, would you like to meet and why?
A. Rabindranath Tagore
. He is my favorite personality as he was a writer, a poet, an artist, an actor, and a musician. I would so like to meet him as he was living in timelessness and so in the ZONE.

Q.19 What books have most influenced your life?
A.
The Art of Thinking Clearly by Rolf Dobelli, Gitanjali by Rabindranath Tagore, The Tao of Physics by Fritjof Capra, Phantom’s of the Brain by V.S. Ramachandran, Intuition: Knowing Beyond Logic by Osho, The Great Design by Stephen Hawking, Be Water My Friend by Bruce Lee.

Q.20 Share the experience of your journey so far?
A.
As Chandran Christian, a completely misunderstood flamboyant depressive. I woke up to life after burying him and living impersonal Life that is eternally present as Being, Consciousness, and Bliss. Einstein, in this light, beautifully commented, You can judge a man's intelligence by how much he has got freedom from himself.
