My Review -

We're all broken in one way or another, some just hold the pieces together better.

Many people had a traumatic history, but only a few are willing to overcome and build a better life for themselves. Krista Nerestant is one of them. She relocated to the USA with her four siblings, elder John, herself, Toni, PJ, and youngest Rex.

They all have a different upbringing in the Philippines, so coming to a whole new country gave them a cultural shock. Their father was an abusive and alcoholic who beats his wife and children to teach them a lesson. They all developed a different way of coping with the pain that reflects in their actions.

Krista was his father's favorite child because she is submissive towards his doings. She thoughtfully narrates the anecdotes that created envy between the siblings and its after-effects throughout their lives. She played the role of mother, sister and took care of siblings in every possible manner, but in doing so, she attracts a lot of negative and unwanted energy. I am recently reading many books to stimulate energy from Archangels and guide us, so that part of the book caught my attention.

To relish a peaceful life, she chooses to let go of all the bitterness and anger she carries. From a young age, she took responsibility and try to live up to her late mother's expectations. They all go through very troublesome times, but their willingness to survive is commendable.

I felt the pain of the author and what she has to endure. She became a strong woman and ready to adapt to changes, even that means pardoning the unpardonable. In her memoir, she focused on childhood memories and how they helped her to achieve her dreams. Her story is inspiring and insists you take charge of your life problems because we are as indestructible as we believe ourselves to be.

She keeps the faith, and being a life coach and spiritual medium between the spirits and humans, she forged her own path. Her debut book gives a ray of hope that one day everything will work out just fine. I enjoyed each chapter and felt bad that the book ends so soon. This book is for every non-fiction lover because you can learn a lot from your intellectual state. I highly recommend it.
